The Angels Overseas Foundation is a group created in 2013 by the Founders of the Medical Tourism Association dedicated to financially support children in need from throughout the world who need critical, life-saving medical care or treatment which can be provided by MTA partner specialty hospitals throughout the world. The Angels goal is to provide children with access to life saving medical treatment which is not available in their home country.
The level of health care in many developed areas of the world is not available to thousands of children in need of specialty care who go without needed treatment. The Angels were created to identify children in need and match these children to partner hospitals and physicians who can provide life-saving or life-changing care.
The Angels work with in country partners and MTA Chapters to identify children in need. A medical assessment of the child’s condition is performed locally to determine the type and cost of care needed to save their lives. Partner institutions throughout the world are then engaged in providing the needed care at minimum cost. Fundraising efforts are developed and led by the local chapter board and supplanted by international efforts led by the Angels Foundation Board.

The Angels Foundation is led through an International Board of Directors organized through the support of the Medical Tourism Association. The Foundation is a 501c3 non- profit charity established under the laws of the United States, and managed as an affiliate partner of the Medical Tourism Association. The Foundation is overseen by an Executive Board that provides fiduciary oversight, leadership and strategic guidance in the development of an international network of partner chapters who share in this mission.
All donations are tax-exempt as permissible by US law. Funds are accepted and managed directly by the Foundation, or managed under Foundation policies and oversight at the in-county level. All funds are managed separately from the Medical Tourism Association, and an annual audit is performed and made available to the public.
In country efforts are overseen and managed by local boards made up of prominent individuals who join together to develop identification, access and fundraising needed to save lives. The Angels Chapter Board creates and manages ongoing support programs which help promote the cause and raise the funds necessary. The Board members are leaders in business, social, political and entertainment communities, and serve as spokespersons for the effort.
Stars for Angels is made up of celebrities that represent the children from their respective countries and help motivate the collaboration needed in each case.
This is a program that recognizes media organizations, professional service firms and other companies that provide time, products or in-kind services to help extend the reach of the Angels Board. Partners are also companies and individuals who directly help mentor children and assist their families through their ordeal. Partners may “adopt” specific children and their families to assist them with fundraising, information, transportation, food, lodging, guidance, and other direct needs.
The Angels seeks and receives assistance and financial support from thousands of individuals and organizations who share in the mission to help save children’s lives.
